The Mumbler is a story of young woman making a pilgrimage across town in search of a speech-enhancing medical device. It was written and directed by Madison Bounds.
Willow, the main character, is incredibly smart but is unable to speak. She can only mumble.
Everyone assumes Willow isn’t intelligent, simply because she can’t communicate!
Worse yet, Willow is surrounded by incompetents. She has no choice but to put up with them.
The score was written in a courtly, 18th century style, where the kings and queens were harassed by the idiots around them.
But, there are a couple of people who understand her intuitively.
The Mumbler is about communication and the absurd humor of assumptions.
