Finding Solace: Film Score
Finding Solace is a film by American director Maurice Moore, produced by Motivate Pictures.
I think of Finding Solace as an indie mashup of Seven and Crash.
Maurice challenged me to create a soundtrack that could sound cool outside of the movie. I accepted, and a chill of fear immediately ran up my spine.
From the outset, I realized it would take at least an hour of music to do the film justice.
The music also needed to be orchestral. The story screamed for it. I had to go for it.
A friend of mine loaned me some gear (a Fender stratocaster reissue and a guitar pedal) to which I used and absolutely abused throughout the score.
The guitar provided a perfect revererant contrast to the orchestra.
I got to dig into some serious orchestral inensity in so many parts of the film.
And in other parts, I got to dig into the dramatic aspects, the emotions, the depth. It was yummy.
